Beautiful images, well organized. Love these field guides. We have copies of this one, mammals, insects & trees. Perfect size for your backpack. I did find one odd thing about this particular bird field guide, however. The other ones (even the mammals one) has a state list at the back, detailing the official tree or mammal for each state. However, this book did not have such a list, which I found to be rather odd, especially since you usually only ever see the state flower and state bird on state info pages in atlases, on state welcome signs, etc. Most likely just an oversight by the editors, but definitely something that should be added to the next edition. Providing a preview here, including the table of contents, the helpful glossary at the end, and a quick id guide (I’m only showing 2 of the 4 pages included). And if you are a Dr. Suess fan, yes...there really is such a thing as a “purple martin.” Very cool! Highly recommend this field guide!

My kids love these books! They will spend hours reading them and they have so many cool facts in them. The cover is nice too, it''s not a hard cover but instead a pretty solid soft cover. These are still in very good shape after many travels.

My granddaughter loves this book. Now she has her own bird book when we look at the birds through our binoculars. My husband and I spend about an hour or so marveling over facts that we didn''t know about our favourite birds and we actively birdwatch! I would buy again....See more
