The boss Mark Minervini does it again. When you pick up this book, you get a candid lesson from a multi-millionaire trader on how to trade for a living and make money. Don''t put books written by professional authors on the same pedestal as books written by professional traders like Mark. In this industry there are many losers who write books for a living and can''t trade their way out of a Pokemon playing card auction.
Many gems in this book, very helpful even for advanced traders.
My criticism, I would say is about the last section of this book where a motivational speaker/psychologist is introduced. The section was pretty lame and the book finished weak in my opinion. The concepts that guest brought up were sophomoric at best. Still the book gets 5 stars because of the gold that Mark brings to the table.
Another point I would like to bring up to Mark''s attention and I hope that he will one day read my comment is with regards to how his profile is presented in the book. You were too conservative man. It is OK to tell people about your success. The "about the author" section only shares public information about you. Why not state the following, for example, "Within 10 years of trading successfully after my 7 years of struggles I managed to accumulate 30 million dollars" Or you can tell us "I have average 124% return over a period of 20 years..." You have the record why not be bold about this. Is a job interview the right time to be subtle about your skills or bold? Your resume is your net worth in trading. It is not boastful to state your success. This will better set you apart amongst new readers, from the plethora of losers who run educational and signal services for a living then write books that add to the noise and deceive beginner traders with shallow and hollow concepts. Thanks for the book. I highly recommend it to you all. Bye

Mark provides you with specific rules - buy rules, sell rules, profit taking rules and risk management rules. You don''t need anything else.

And if you want to get really good then sign up for the service. Pay close attention while he reviews stocks on his weekly call. You will get a lot better quick. I did.

I have read his book, "Think & Trade Like a Champion", his companion book, "Trade Like a Stock Market Wizard", and "Momentum Masters", where he is inteviewed along with 3 other top traders: David Ryan, Mark Ritchie and Dan Zanger. And I have met all of them.

I also attended Mark''s recent 2019 "Master Trader Program" which also featured David Ryan and Mark Ritchie. In over 35 years of investing and trading, I have read all the important books on investing and trading.

Mark builds on the formidable foundation built by Jesse Livermore, Richard Wychoff, and William O''Neil, among others. If you''ve read O''Neil''s book, "How to Make Money in Stocks", you have the foundation that Mark builds upon. In fact, he attributes much of his success to the techniques taught by O''Neil. But Mark expands upon O''Neil identifiying what he calls the "Volume Contraction Pattern". O''Neil touches on the pattern but Mark really explains it and shows it in action, time and time again. The precise characteristics become quite clear. More importantly, Mark shows how he manages his money, manages his risk, deals with volatile or flat markets, and methodically manages every aspect of his trades. How he preps for the next day, how he gauges the market environment and precisely how he uses stops to control risk.

Mark''s books are indespensible to anyone looking to trade the market and protect their investments. They are essential. Along with O''Neils books, they give you everything you need to succeed if you can stay disciplined enough to follow the rules he lays out. It is as much a psychological war within as it is a war with the market. Perhaps more so. But with the knowlege he imparts in these books, the rest is up to you. If you had to read only 2 books about investing in stocks, I would recommend Mark''s two above all others.

I bought this book few weeks ago. I have many years of experience in investing in multiasset, even if I changed many styles with single stocks. Few years ago I discovered O''Neill book about Canslin and I liked it a lot. I tried to use it and I passed from losing a bit to gaining a bit. But I still needed something more. I bought other 2 books in the meantime (both trend following oriented because I understood that is the style for me) and I improved my performance. But not yet at the level I liked. After thinking a lot and reading positive reviews, I decided to give a chance to Minervini book.
I was quite impressed, I think is a very good one and I regret it wasn''t written before. I read it 3 times already, taking notes on my diary to create the plan and each time I find an idea or advice that I didn''t catch in the previous reading.
Of course I like a lot the part about when selling and buy, therefore I decided to focus on these patterns in the future. But a great thing of the book is the psychological part and the optimal size. I appreciated the idea about doing research on my own trades, and I discovered quite interesting bias in my trading.
Hope that Minervini''s book will help me to improve my trading. At the beginning I''ll try to use it on European Markets that are the markets I know better, but can''t exclude to jump in the US stocks.
In Summary, if you are a trader that is not afraid to buy high to sell higher (or a bit lower if stopped) this is the book for you.The book will explain the optimal trading size to begin, letting grow the size when you''re successful, and reduce it in difficult times.
Definitively I recommend this book that I think it will open yourself a new world.

I am on page 76 of this book, Mark Minervini''s second book, after finishing reading Mark Minervini''s extraordinary first book two days ago. I didn''t realize that anyone could even write a book this good about stock trading. It''s as if he''s mastered many different disciplines (I recognize some neurolinguistic programming in the way he addresses emotions, very sophisticated), and has used that to master stock trading. The mathematical analyses of batting averages is clear as a bell, makes total sense, and is so crucial to success. If I follow his directions, including the invaluable advice to not feel like a lemon, I cannot possibly fail, and will succeed. And now I have so much work and analysis to do of my previous trades, and I''ll get it done before taking his class in November! This book is a priceless roadmap into the wilderness of crystal towers and dark pits of despair which is the stock market.

This is a brilliant book written by an equally brilliant person. The book should be looked at as part 2 of the author''s orginal Trade Like a Stock Market Wizard. The original book describes the author''s approach to taking positions in the market, including the fundamentals he looks at and the technical signals he looks for. The current book continues this discussion but is more focused on the technicals. He speaks about money management, elaborates more on the VCP concept he uses for entry and gives a more full discussion of exit techniques when you are in profit. This is the hardest part of trading and he gives multiple guidelins for exit. I must admit, I am not all that convinced that there is much more to it than the reward to risk ratio. The additional signs to look for to decide an exit the author gives in this book, although helpful, are in my opinion not really something I feel I can use easily, but that is a personal issue. In summary, a fantastic book.

This book is very poorly written and the contents are below average at best. The author brags about his long experience and how his method (VCP) is working but provide no evidence to back it up. The book is a way overpriced. There are hundreds of books on Amazon that are less than half a cost of this book with so much substance, winning investment strategies and actual facts.
This author copy/past some charts, which everyone can do, and mark and arrow where he bought and sold. Again, everyone can do that. But show no actual evidence for what he''s claiming.
His method is the polar opposite of what Warren Buffet teaches.
I want to give it ZERO star, or negative star if I could.

I first started taking control of my own finances sometime around 15 years ago, and like many others I suspect, I made many many mistakes. I read as much as I could, and whilst there was lots of good stuff out there that taught me loads about company accounts, BS, P&L and Cash Flow statements, and gave copious amounts of advice on the plethora of ratios that you can use to analyse specific stocks as well as charting, after years of reading although I was somewhat wiser and periodically successful, I still lacked a plan and an approach by which I could make any success I achieved stick. After ten years, I even got to the stage where I was on the point of capitulation, after a particularly unsuccessful period. It all seemed more effort than it was worth, and the input was far exceeding the output. Anyway, after some support from my wife, and investing in various materials by Tony Robbins to get my motivational self back on track, I became aware of the books on trading / investment written by Mark Minervini. The teachings of Tony Robbins had stressed the importance of establishing mentors in your life and who better in the world of investment than the guy who had achieved annual returns way beyond the dreams of most people. So, I bought ''....Stock Market Wizard'' and shortly thereafter followed up with ''....Like a Champion''. To this day, ''Wizard'' resides on my bedside, and ''Champion'' (Kindle edition), is on my laptop, never far from reach. I repeatedly refer to the content, and re-read various chapters on multiple occasions, whenever I feel that I need some more direction or support. What I particularly like about the books is that they are not prescriptive about following any particular approach or using specific techniques, but they encourage that you develop your own style, whilst also giving expert guidance on the strategies that Mark himself pursued to achieve excellent returns. Anyway, all I can say is that since embracing some of the strategies Mark shares, losses in any 12 month period have become a thing of the past, and whilst that doesn''t necessarily translate into spectacular gains anything close to those achieved by Mark, what it does translate into is a performance beyond anything that I previously achieved and a confidence that I am now doing something right and doing it consistently. Whilst Mark''s books are not intended, as I see it, for those new to the art of trading and investments, if there is one set of books you need on your bookshelf and which will guide you to consistently making money in the markets, it is these.

Do not even think of buying this book unless you have first read Mr Minervini''s first book - Like a Stock Market Wizard. That book is excellent: see my review on it dated 23/02/2018. This book (Champion) has some useful additional material. If you are one of the very few people who has the time, discipline, commitment and will to try Mr Minervini''s methods, then definitely by this book. However, be aware that well over half the content is repetition of the first book. Mr Minervini''s publisher should have published an updated edition of the Wizard book with the additional material added.
